About the role
The Director of Operations at Everybody Loves Languages will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and ensuring the seamless execution of our business, which consists of delivering superior service to our clients, as well as, overseeing our R&D projects. Our EdTech company specializes in providing cutting-edge language learning software to corporate clients, educational institutions, and government organizations. Our clients are mainly in Latin America, Asia, and parts of Europe. The Director of Operations will play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, optimizing processes, and ensuring the successful delivery of our products and services to our clients.
Contract Position- 18 months (Maternity)
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Develop and implement operational strategies to support the company’s growth and objectives.
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams, including project management, customer support, and product delivery.
- Ensure that all operational activities align with the company’s mission, vision, and values.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of B2B projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Implement best practices in project management to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the product and development teams to ensure that customer feedback is integrated into product updates and new features.
- Process Optimization:
- Analyze and optimize internal processes to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Implement and maintain scalable processes that support the company’s growth trajectory.
- Utilize data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Work closely with the sales and account management teams to ensure that client needs are met and exceeded.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, acting as a point of escalation for operational issues.
- Ensure that client feedback is incorporated into operational practices and product development.
- Team Development and Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the operations department.
- Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Budgeting and Financial Oversight:
- Manage the operations budget, ensuring that expenditures align with company objectives.
- Monitor financial performance, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare and manage departmental budgets.
- Risk Management:
- Identify operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Implement and monitor quality control processes to maintain high standards of product and service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the EdTech or software industry or SaaS B2B businesses.
- Proven experience in managing B2B projects and working with corporate/institutional clients.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage cross-functional teams.
- Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Proficiency in process optimization and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with financial management, including budgeting and cost control.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing operational challenges.
